For the first time Prabhu Deva plays a dual role in this movie. Hindi glamour girl Shilpa Shetty is acting as his co-star and it is her first film in Tamil. Madhubala, Vijayakumar, Vadivelu and Surendar Pal are also in the cast. Story and editing are by Ramesh. While Crazy Mohan has written the dialogues, Manikandan is in charge of cinematography and the music is by A. R. Rahman the Romeo (hero) a singer is assumed to be dead. A look-alike of the hero comes to the city. His enemy tries to make quick money by using the look-alike. But to everyone's surprise, the hero returns. How he and his impersonator tackle things is shown with humour and seriousness. The film is directed by Ravi.
