Movie Info :

Taking a break from his rural-based subjects, Bharatiraja ventures into the urban milieu, with what's meant to be a psychological thriller.

The male protagonist is a young business tycoon, an orphan and a loner. And what the world doesn't know is that Vaseegaran is a kleptomaniac too. She's a pretty girl, the fiance of a cop, who's been a witness to one of Vaseegaran's Flicking episode.

And when one day a priceless diamond which she was assigned to gurad at an exhibition gets stolen, Vidya is sure who the culprit is. The cops refuse to believe her, and her reputation at stake, Vidya enters Vaseegaran's house on false pretensions and becomes his trusted personal secretary. The lonely youth finds in her his Cindrella. And when truth dawns, he takes her on a trip to Switzerland. What transpires between the duo forms the rest.

The film has a lot going for it. Like it's pretty debutant heroine Priyamani, who with more experience can turn out to be a good actress too. A smart hero in Vaseegaran who plays the poor little rich boy with panache. Rehman's music has some catchy numbers, well picturised too. Impressive visuals by Kannan, catching the action and the exotic locales of Switzerland impressively. A stylised narration and a suspense build up throughout. But there's a vital element missing-a Coherent script.

Missing are the convincing scenes that would have justified some of the antics of the characters, and also explained the air of ominous suspense that pervaded throughout the narration. Vidya is made to look a little foolish, when she frantically tries to retrieve the diamond from Vaseegaran's fish tank.

Knowing he's about to step out of his house to board a plane, Vidya had all the time in the world to retrieve it. There's a bit too much of running, fleeing and hiding, not always with a convincing reason. Further, the ominous music that follows whenever Vaseegaran appears on the screen, is misleading, giving the impression throughout that there was something more to the character than met the eye. And one waits till the end-in vain-for this mysterious terrifying element to be unravelled!

If a little more of the thought and energy spent on making the frills attractive, had been spent on the structuring of the script, perhaps K K S would have turned out to be an engaging thriller. Bharatiraja had done it earlier in 'Red Roses'. And there's no reason why he can't do it again!
